Meet Marion

My spouse Bart Cannon and I, and our rescue pup Indi, live in Uptown, Minneapolis, at the intersection of the E and B Lines BRT. Bart grew up in Uptown, and I’ve lived here for 27 years. Indi has lived here for 42 dog years. My grown stepdaughters Ellie and Mia live in St. Paul and Colorado, respectively. 

Before serving on the county board, I served in the legislature, and was chief author of legislation to fully fund all-day kindergarten, and co-author of legislation to establish the Minnesota Health Exchange, now MNSure. Before running for public office, I was active in the community and worked in the private sector in health care policy and marketing. I have a BA and an MBA. My parents served our country overseas, and I grew up in India, Morocco, Brazil, and Pakistan.

Spending one’s teenage years living in a military dictatorship makes one appreciate and want to nurture the democratic experiment that is our country. I hope you will join me in serving as an election judge this year.
